Mintaro Manoora Sporting Club Secures $75,000 for Oval Lighting Upgrade
Mintaro Manoora Sporting Club has long been a proud part of community sport in South Australia’s Mid North, bringing together footballers, netballers, families, volunteers and supporters across the Mintaro and Manoora communities.
Formed through the merger of the local football and netball clubs, MinMan has continued to grow as a united sporting hub, supporting junior, senior and female participation while remaining deeply connected to its country roots.
As participation has grown, the limitations of the existing oval lighting at Mintaro Oval have become more apparent. The current halogen system is outdated and no longer meets the needs of modern training, particularly during winter evenings.
Project Overview
Through recent planning work undertaken with Club Builder, the club identified lighting at Mintaro Oval as a key priority to support safer training and improved facility use.
With $75,000 secured through the South Australia Football Facilities Fund, the project will deliver a new LED lighting system including upgraded towers, cabling and electrical infrastructure.
The upgraded system will create a safer, more consistent and more reliable training environment, allowing the oval to be used more effectively throughout the week and across the season.
Real Impact for the Club and Community
For players and coaches, the upgrade creates a safer and more reliable environment to train, removing the pressure of limited daylight hours and allowing teams to make the most of every session.
For volunteers and committee members, it provides greater flexibility in scheduling and helps ease the weekly pressure on shared facilities.
Mintaro Oval is a true multi-use space, supporting netball, cricket, school use and community events. With improved lighting, the facility becomes more accessible and active throughout the week.
Whether it’s junior teams training after school, families staying longer at the club, or events running into the evening, the upgrade helps create a more welcoming and connected environment for the whole community.
By investing in this project, Mintaro Manoora Sporting Club is ensuring the oval continues to be a place where sport, connection and community life can thrive for years to come.
