Focused Upgrade
Pimpinio Football and Netball Club has been part of local community sport for generations, proudly supporting football, netball and community connection at Pimpinio Recreation Reserve.
Based within Horsham Rural City, the club provides opportunities across senior and junior football, Auskick, netball and social membership, with the reserve continuing to serve as a key gathering place for local families, volunteers, supporters and visitors.
Why this project matters
The reserve is one of the town’s central community spaces, supporting football and netball activities, local gatherings and visitors travelling through the region. However, the existing playground was limited to a single swing set, with ageing equipment that no longer met the needs of families, young children and broader community users.
Identified through planning
Through the establishment of a Facility Master Plan with Club Builder, the playground redevelopment was identified as a priority project to improve safety, usability and amenity at the reserve.
Funding Secured
$50,000 to deliver a new community play space
That priority has now received a major boost, with Pimpinio Sporting and Community Centre securing $50,000 through Round 3 of the Tiny Towns Fund for the Community Play Space at Pimpinio Recreation Reserve.
What the project will deliver
Modern play equipment
New climbing, sliding and balance structures will replace the existing single swing set.
Safer surfaces
Compliant soft-fall surfacing and timber edging will support safer play for young children.
Nature-play elements
Logs, rocks and sand areas will create a more engaging and creative play environment.
Seating and landscaping
Minor landscaping and seating will make the space more welcoming for families and carers.
More than a playground
For families, the upgrade will create a safer and more engaging space for children during football and netball match days, training sessions, community events and informal visits to the reserve.
For the club and volunteers, it strengthens the reserve as a family-friendly destination, making it easier for parents, siblings and supporters to remain involved in club life while children have a safe place to play.
A stronger community hub
By investing in a modern, inclusive and welcoming play space, Pimpinio Football and Netball Club is helping ensure the recreation reserve remains a place where sport, family life and community connection can continue to thrive for years to come.
